Book a demo Made in NZ

Why it’s called weft.

On a loom, the warp threads run the length of the cloth. The weft goes across them, over and under, and binds them into one piece.

An event is a lot of threads: speakers, sponsors, delegates, rooms, sessions, payments, the website, the app. weft is the thread that ties them together.

Most event teams hold it together themselves, across a handful of tools that don’t talk to each other. weft puts it in one place, so the people running the event can spend their time on the event.

It’s made in Aotearoa New Zealand, for associations, societies and the organisers who run conferences for them.

Isaac with his family and their white dog under a big old pōhutukawa tree.

Kia ora, I’m Isaac.

I’ve worked in communications and events for nearly two decades, and I’ve seen just about every success and failure there is: last-minute changes that completely wreck a schedule, and events postponed for regional conflicts, pandemics and the lot.

I’ve worked through manual spreadsheets until the early hours of the morning, and I’ve worked with automated systems that just didn’t work.

Event tech companies now charge an arm and a leg, and then some, for some great products and some not-so-great ones. Then they charge for the add-ons: user licences, webhooks, attendee verification, custom event domains, a branded app for every event, server boosts, training for every feature and function, and the list goes on.

At weft, we’re here to change that.

  • Trustworthy, reliable programming without the intense manual labour.
  • Competitive, open pricing that isn’t bloated by venture capital and the bottom line for shareholders.
  • A social conscience and a connection to Aotearoa, providing the best for the New Zealand we all love.

I look forward to working with you!
